It gives the Canadiens the opportunity to play newly acquired Mike Weaver, the Canadiens prized pre-trade deadline acquisition. The Canadiens will also debut Thomas Vanek who joined the team this morning in Phoenix. It is expected that Peter Budaj will get the start for the Habs tonight against P.K. Subban Sochi best friend Mike Smith.
Montreal closes out their four-game California trip on Saturday against the San Jose Sharks, the team that traded Gorges to Montreal in 2007.
