Dale Weise Signed To Two-Year Contract By Montreal Canadiens

As was first circulating around Twitter yesterday, Dale Weise has signed a new two-year contract with the Montreal Canadiens.
Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports confirmed that the contract is for two years with a cap hit of $1 million. It is really a perfect deal for the Canadiens who obviously wanted Weise and for Weise who finally seems to have found a fit on an NHL team.
I talked a lot about Weise and what he brings here, on his player report card. He is a perfect fourth line forward. He brings energy and defensive awareness while also having enough skill to create scoring opportunities.
He will not be a scorer at the pace he was during the playoffs, but as a fourth liner, just the fact that he has that ability to turn hot is enough to keep him on board. Weise can definitely have a bigger impact on this team than Raphael Diaz, the person he was traded for.
I was skeptical when the trade happened but was willing to give Weise a chance and you can’t help but be happy with what he brought the team since his arrival.
