Like she did for the French Open, Blainville’s Aleksandra Wozniak won two qualifying matches to enter the Wimbledon main draw.

Today she defeated American Melanie Oudin in straight sets, 6-4, 6-3. Oudin, who made a Cinderella run to the quarter finals at the US Open in 2009 as a 17-year old, has yet to replicate that feat when she was the darling of the tournament.

Wozniak has now qualified for two straight Grand Slams and has climbed to a ranking of 118. She made the third round of the Aegon Classic before losing to the fourth seed Kristen Flipkens.

Eugenie Bouchard will be the No. 13 seed for the tournament which gets underway next week. Bouchard has had success at Wimbledon making the second round last year and winning the Junior championship there as well.

Bouchard is looking to make her third straight Grand Slam semi-final after making that round in the previous two Grand Slams in Paris and Melbourne.

The singles draw takes place tomorrow.
