The 2014 Montreal Impact season has been one of ups and downs. Fans of the Bleu, Blanc, Noir have bear witness to triumphs (one in particular stands out) and numerous defeats.
Looking at the standings, 2014 has been the worst year for the Impact since they entered Major League Soccer. The squad currently sits in last place in the Eastern Conference, having only amassed 24 points (six wins, six draws) and a -20 goal differential. It would take a mini miracle for the Impact to climb out of the basement and anything above that is very wishful thinking.
Off the field, the club has taken steps to try to improve for next season, in signing a total of 17 new players in the calendar year, including seven from the youth academy.
The team have also announced that they are upgrading their training facilities by building a new practice centre downtown and founding a USL Pro team.
Things could begin to look up in the future, but for now, we will reflect on the season that has been through these five photographs.
