Canadiens vs Avalanche: Subban, Price Shine For Habs
By Jared Book
P.K. Subban must love playing against the Colorado Avalanche.
You can make the argument that the Montreal Canadiens defenceman has had his best two games of the season against the Avalanche and in the case of last night, it continued his recent run of strong play.
The Canadiens beat the Avalanche 4-3 with goals from Subban, Andrei Markov, Jiri Sekac and the game winner from Max Pacioretty. Subban and Markov also added assists for two point nights.

Carey Price was also fantastic despite allowing three goals. It could have been a lot more, and Colorado is definitely not lacking speed and skill.
It was an exciting game that looked like a lot of the players were in a video game. You had fast skating, fast passes, and back and forth action. The Canadiens were once again on the positive side of the shot clock and scoreboard but Colorado isn’t known for their possession hockey.
Alex Galchenyuk‘s pass to Markov on Markov’s goal was just incredible. It’s one of those plays that makes you think that he will be one of the top players in the league, and why the Canadiens are working hard to sign him long term.
Sekac’s goal was also great to see as it was a goal created on a normal rush with a nice drag and shot.
The power play looked a little better and got some nice puck movement when they had possession in the Colorado end.
Tom Gilbert returned to the lineup in place of Bryan Allen and there were no other roster moves for the Canadiens. They get set to play the Minnesota Wild on Wednesday.
